The Spice Kitchen

As hubby and I venture into a life of culinary delight, we've noticed that one of the hardest things to learn is Spices. What spice to pair with what food, and how each spice can make an O.K. meal into an extraordinary delight!
When I was contacted to review The Spice Kitchen, I jumped at the chance with the thought that this book will help us to learn just where every spice should go! And it hasn't let me down.
The first chapter of the book is where all the info is on each spice, with a detailed description of how each spice tastes, what it should be paired with and how to recognize it. This is the section that I loved the most. From reading this book, I know have a decent understanding of how to use my spices.
In the following chapters there are meal specific recipes which include all the great spices that make them extraordinary. Recipes like, Pumpkin Spice Chocolate Chip Muffins (mouthwatering I might add) and Spicy Middle Eastern Chicken Skewers only leave you wanting more!
I only had one thing I didn't like about this book, there aren't enough pictures. I like to see a picture for every recipe I am making, you know, a little something to compare to. There are some pictures, and they make you crave the food, let me tell ya! I just wish there was one for every recipe.
If you are interested in learning more about spices, I would suggest checking out this book, and opening your kitchen to some Spicy Adventures!
This review is part of a Mega Review in conjunction with The Classy Closet. I received The Spice Kitchen at no charge, but this has not swayed my opinion of the book in any way.

I will so have to find this book. I love to cook and use different spices and sometimes am not sure what would be good.
