The Best Of Chef At Home

I'm not a big TV watcher at all, very few shows that I will give my very little 'extra time' too. The one show that I make sure to watch (or DVR) is Chef At Home. I love watching Michael Smith come up with amazingly easy creations from his own home kitchen in PEI. And more recently I've been turned onto Chef Abroad, Michael Smiths other Food Network Show. (Both are must see's)

My DH turned me on to Michael Smith, and when he cooks (DH), if I question him (and I usually do) he says "That's How Michael Smith does it" - Seriously, I think my DH wants to be just like him. Even our son will ask if we're going to watch Chef At Home, he likes it too! (Possibly a budding culinary artist??)

When I heard that Micheal Smith was releasing a new cookbook, The Best Of Michael Smith, I knew it was one that we would have to have! And you should have seen DH's eyes light up when he opened the package when it arrived at the door! He was like a kid in the candy store...off he went to read all the wonderful recipes that are shared in this book.

I can say with complete honesty that this book has been looked at, referred to and used EVERY SINGLE DAY since it's arrival! Though I myself haven't made any of the recipes, I have definitely tasted them! DH has made quite a few now, including the wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookies (even my mother was impressed with them). I wish I had a picture of them to share with you...I promise, I'll take one next time - he makes them at least twice a week now.

One of the things I was most shocked about was the amount of pictures in the book. Every recipe, and I mean, every single one, has a full page picture of the finished project. And this isn't a second rate photograph...you could frame these pictures...they're that beautiful! The pictures were taken by James Ingram.

If you have someone in your life who loves to cook, or is trying to learn, I completely suggest this book. It is great for every level of home cooking, from beginning (DH) to the most experienced (My Mom).
