AQ Creations Pendant Giveaway

About April Quast:

Abstractions of dancers explore the energy and movement of the dance experience. The interaction between these forms describe the exchange of energy and communication between dance partners. By transforming the recognizable human figure into abstract forms, the viewer can investigate the movements and interactions of the dance and not the people involved in the movement of the dance. As the colors in the figure and ground begin to interact with one another an energy begins to be created on the canvas that can be compared to the energy of the music and how it influences the movements of the dancer. My intentions in creating these abstractions of dance are to encourage my viewers to contemplate the energies of music and communication between dancers that influence movement and the results of the dance.

This Pendant is made from a painting titled "Leverage"

"Leverage" is originally an acrylic painting. My favorite painting. The image is an abstraction of dancers. The leader and follower are leaning away from one another to create leverage. I used curled leaves as a model to help me render the form showing the relationship between dance partners. The painting has been photographed and encased in resin to create a 1.5" x 1" pendant. The pendant hangs on a double strand of seed beads. Each necklace that I bead varies in detail, but colors are always chosen to accent the colors from the pendant.
