Shhhh....Sex while pregnant....

Saturday, July 04, 2009 Posted by A Busy Mommy

Yes, most of us know that though it is very safe (in most normal low risk pregnancies) Sex may not be at the top of our "To Do" list. The first few weeks or months of pregnancy for can be tiring, nauseating, and leaving us feeling exhausted. Finding the energy to shower, let along do the nasty is near impossible.

After a while, those feeling will pass, we'll start feeling ourselves again, and hey...guess what. The sex drive returns! Yay - Any men reading this are either jumping for joy or wondering just when this will happen to his lovely lady.

This is where I am in my pregnancy. We've hit the second trimester, the sickness is gone, the energy is back (most days) and as my hubby jumps for joy - so is the sex drive! I have to admit, sex while pregnant IS different. My #1 complaint - The Baby Is In The Way!!! Though it's barely 5 inches long, for some reason this child has decided to embed itself very low in my body, in the perfect spot to obstruct the actions of it's parents. I actually find myself saying out loud "Get out of the way" - How Romantic Is That???

With our first pregnancy I remember hubby being all worried about hitting the baby, doesn't seem to bother him this time around though. I guess all my reassurances last time sunk in (why doesn't any thing else I say....?)

At almost 17 weeks pregnant, and with my sex drive back, I'm sure there will be more awkwardness to speak of. I can't say that I remember much from the first pregnancy, except with orgasm came contractions (or tightenings) of the uterus. That hasn't started happening yet, though I do get the odd braxtons hicks throughout the day now.

Do you have a story that you'd like to share? I'd love to hear it! Feel free to leave a comment and tell your awkward story! (come'on - you know you've got at least one!!)

Must be a day for sex. I just posted about PDAs. LOL.

I couldn't have sex when I was pregnant. My dh swimmers would cause me to go into preterm labor. Nice huh? Just when my hormones would kick into overdrive.

My babies always sat low too. Well, the boys did. My daughter believed my mouth was the exit. I know if you google it you could probably find some ways to get the little bugger to move!

    Good luck with the baby.

LOL! A 34 weeks we've almost given up on having relations. The bump is waaaay too big, but we keep trying different positions. She is also positioned very low. The last time I begged her to move so mommy could have some fun! Nice to know I'm not crazy for asking my daughter to get out of the way so I could get my groove on! TFS!
