In average humans will need to plant 5 trees each year to offset their carbon footprint! This is such a great giveaway idea!

I lke this giveaway idea. If I do anything in life, and to date it hasn't been much, I'd like to know there are some nice healthy air-giving trees planted in my name.

They have a "find my tree" option that is cool.
I like that you can choose where the tree will be planted con5459(at)gmail(dot)com
This is a great idea I would like to have a tree planted for my children and grand children.
I like that the trees are going to U.S. reforestation. I have seen -- and donated to -- organizations planting trees in places such as Africa, South America or the Middle East. But this is the first that I have seen reforesting U.S. parks.
I think many of us may not be as aware that there is need for reforestation here as well as other parts of the world.
I subscribe. Great idea for a giveaway!
rees Instead has listed over 150000 trees for The Billion trees Campaign of the

trees in 2009. Our Goal is to be the largest tree dedication
project in the world for 2009, please support our efforts by
dedicating a tree for any occasion. So far we had manage to
become the #1 tree dedication Co. in the US*, #2 in Canada,
#2 in Israel # 2 in Colombia & # 4 in Brazil by volume of trees
planted and internet traffic.
* Tree Planting for a private tree planting Project, Traffic
figures are besed on private consulting firms and public counters like Alexa and

Being able to find my tree is cool. Now, if I could only specify the kind of tree and go pick the fruit from it.
Very unique giveaway I love it. I learned:
The Memorial tree planted will be a local tree based on the forest needs and tree species.

A healthy tree stores about 13 to 20 pounds of carbon annually. This is too cool. Thank you for a unique and wonderful giveaway.
I would love to plant trees in my step dad's memory as he passed away last year. His family homestead is covered with trees and he always enjoyed his yard and gardens. This year besides the rabbits and birds we always have we have deer who have made nest out in the way out in the back so even the animals enjoy his yard.

I love this idea I used trees Instead to Dedicate trees 4 Christmas... and all receivers loved it.

What I find most interesting about this is how original they are with their ideas for gifts. For example, the wedding favors are a great idea, nothing I've ever seen before.
love, love, LOVE this idea! over 200.000 trees so far ~ great job!
I've never heard of anyone doing this right here in the US before! YAY! I'd love to plant a tree for my grandson!
Wow - thanks for introducing me to such a great organization. I find it wonderful that Trees Instead offers memorial trees and "carbon offsets". It is so much more meaningful and beneficial to the world to buy something like this for a loved one rather than another knick-knack. I find it so interesting that you can find your trees with the tree-finder too!
Thanks for the giveaway and please enter me!

We have fourty acres of land and have been contacted by lumber co. to clear cut. Will not do it.The trees are needed .
Trees are disappearing faster than any other natural commodity. Greed makes most people turn a blind eye to it. I would love to see a complete ban on tree removal in North and South America. Our Countries would be much richer in the long run. I have 150 acres and won't even let one tree fall unnaturally. JeansandTs@hotmail.com

I found it intersering that the Memorial tree planted will be a local tree based on the forest needs and tree species. As a master gardener it is very important to me that they use native species in their reforestation plan. Thanks for a great giveaway!

I'm slowly working on friends and relatives surrounding me, I trying to get ideas for schools , and the recycling center. Please enter me so I can be proud to make the world greener. thank you

well who wouldn't want more tree's growing on this great earth as we can, more tree's the more oxigin we've have to breath, thanks, we love tree's here, we've been tree huggers for years, I'd even rallied up friends and families to keep tree tunnels from being cut down in our old neihgborhood before children~! wish more people would get involved with keeping our earth green, I'm the one growing them from seeds, in our yard to pots in the yard to planting them at friends yards, to old schools, to high schools, and middle schools around in my area~

I like that the trees are going to U.S. reforestation as opposed to elsewhere.
Interesting and wonderful concept. It would be great in California, where I live. Maybe we'll get to visit the tree, wouldn't that be something, to see it growing?

I love the 'find your tree' option and it's interesting to see the domestic option. I thought all of these were in rainforests. Great idea.
very nice idea especially assigning to individuals
If you're having an event, you can send them the specs, like how many people are attending, and Trees Instead will calculate how many trees need to be planted to offset the carbon footprint of the event. That's amazing. I'm sure it's also eye-opening to see how much a family reunion or a wedding can impact the environment.
I found it interesting that they have Green Wedding ideas. Make this an Eco-Friendly Wedding. Give each guest a tree certificate,
letting them know that a tree has been planted, to honor their presence at
your wedding.
Great ideas! Thanks!
I love that there is a gift to give someone who has everything that is good for our world. What a wonderful gift idea. Angie

The Trees are planted by organizations doing reforestation projects around the US. Most of the projects are to replenish fire devastated forests and local planting organizations doing Tree drives.
