My Crazy Weekend!

Sunday, December 07, 2008 Posted by A Busy Mommy

OMgosh!! It has been one of those weekends!!

Friday night was supposed to be a quick trip to the city to hit Toys R Us, that quick trip turned into 4 hours of a rotten night! First of all, we're looking for Mouse Trap. You know that really fun kids game that you can never find during the holidays. Well, we can't find it! We drove an hour each way to look in the city, and no store (that we checked) had it in. So we leave the mall, slightly dissapointed, and head off to get something to eat. I was craving some real food, and wanted to go to a sit down restaurant. DH, drove right to McDonalds. (I soo did not want McDonalds, but we were all in a pissy mood by then so I didn't say anything) So I ate my Big Mac and tried to talk DS into eating his cheeseburger, but he was to interested in everything going on around him.

So, we leave McDonalds and while I was in the parking lot (standing outside of the car) I called my Mom. I wanted to let he know we were on our way home. So, I say good bye, set my phone on the roof of the car, jump in and drive away. Yup, you read that right. I drove away with my cell phone on the roof of the car. About 10 minutes down the highway, I want to make a phone call. Guess What! No Freekin Phone!! So, U-Turn on the highway, and hightail it back to Dartmouth McDonalds to see if my phone is by chance still laying in the parking lot. I jumped out of the car, with DH's cell in hand dialing the number to see if I hear it ring, and as I'm looking down, I spot it! Yay!! it's still there, with Tire marks on it. :-(

Now, I have to say, Nokia made a great phone with the MusicExpress. It's so thin, that when the car drove over it, it didn't break. I can still call and text, the MP3 player still works fine as well. But the camera is no longer. A shame cause the phones are only a couple months old, and I highly doubt that my warrenty covered being run over by an Aveo.

That was Friday.

Saturday was an OK day, but very busy. I was trying to get all my jewelry together for the flea market. Made some business cards (they came out really pretty) and I had to work t'boot. With Ben in toe, we head of to work for 4:00pm, (DH picks him up at 6pm). I settled Ben in front of the laptop with his new Sonic DVD. And I set out to cut out my newly printed business cards. I created my business cards on a website that escapes me now. I'll edit this later to give the website. Anyway, I pull out my brand new scalpel and start cutting out my business cards. My left pointer finger mysteriously positions itself in the direct path of the razor sharp blade and I am now sporting a band aid. I'm still waiting for it to hurt. The blade was so freakin sharp that I never felt it cut me, but I took a good chunk out.

Now it's Sunday.

I got up at 4:30am, (I am soo not a morning person) cause Ben thought it would be the perfect time to get up and want a bed time snack?? He was obviously not going back to sleep, so I just got up. I had to be at the fire hall at 7am for the flea market. So, I go out in the freezing cold, an hour and a half before the sun gets up to sell my pretty earrings and It was the quietest flea market I've ever gone to. I shouldn't complain too much as I did have a few sales, I paid my table fee and, bought a couple things myself and came home with a little extra, I guess I was hoping for a little more. Oh well. I'm not doing another market before Christmas, they're isn't enough time.
I've been at work since 2pm and will be here until 10ish. It's looking like a it's gonna be a lonely night so maybe I'll get some work done.

Glad to hear your cell is okay, and your finger isn't too awful! Sounds like quite the eventful weekend!

We got our MouseTrap at a yard sale this summer. Did you try the Hasbro site? I'm pretty sure I saw it on there for sale.
